Our Story

We are Lauren and Mike, accompanied by our beloved Shiba Inu, Cooper. For the past few years, we have dedicated all of our free time to restoring a truly one-of-a-kind vehicle: a 1981 Toyota Land Cruiser. Our story began one night browsing Craigslist in search of an adventure vehicle. To our delight, we came across this emergency response rig that was imported from Australia.

We loved the idea of giving this older vehicle a new lease on life. However, after receiving an eye watering paint quote, we made the bold decision to take on the entire restoration ourselves. The process turned out to be an immensely fulfilling journey. We firmly believe that everyone should take the time to build something for themselves, as there is magic in creating something with your own two hands. Through the process, we honed invaluable skills, from the art of automotive painting to performing diesel maintenance and even mastering the intricate skill of woodworking.

With limited space, we were compelled to explore creative solutions. We would often engage in the game of Tetris, arranging each item until they found their perfect place. Our ultimate goal was to keep things simple and uncluttered. Ensuring that every element is both aesthetically pleasing and purposeful.

As we have embarked on this journey, we have come to the stark realization of the immense impact we have on the world around us. From carefully calculating only the necessary materials for our build to experiencing trash in overcrowded parks. Our impact is becoming increasingly apparent. Therefore, we try to constantly evolve our sustainability practices and take responsibility for our actions. We believe that it’s our duty to share our knowledge and experiences, and to actively participate in cleaning up the environment wherever we go.
